Polo 6R Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Upgrade
The 6R Polo is a small dash — the radio still has to match.
The Polo 6R is listed for 2009–2013. That is the rounder 6R, before the 6C facelift. We already show a real 2009 Polo before-and-after on the main product page. A Polo 9N (to 2009) or a later 6C/AW Polo is a different dashboard. Do not order from this page for those cars.
Both radios include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a CANBUS decoder. They replace the factory radio. They are not add-on modules.
Why upgrade a Polo 6R?
A 6R Polo is a daily car for a lot of Irish drivers. The original stereo is small and dated. A 7-inch unit stays closest to the factory look in a narrow dash; the 9-inch is the bigger, more modern option if your opening matches. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto remove the phone mount from the windscreen.

Product options
These are the two existing LJ Automotive radios, not new products. RAM is working memory. More RAM generally helps the radio keep maps, music and other apps open together. We do not promise a specific speed or frame rate.
4GB RAM / 64GB
The usual middle choice. On the 7-inch radio the 4GB options include a reverse camera. On the 9-inch radio 4GB is sold with or without a camera.
6GB RAM / 128GB
The highest option we sell. Both radios include a reverse camera on the 6GB variants. Choose this if you want more working memory and storage.
USB-C versus Dual USB
On the 7-inch radio you can pick Dual USB or USB-C + USB. That is about the physical ports, not CarPlay. Phone linking is wireless on both radios.

Polo 9N and Polo 6C are not on this page. If the model year is 2009, check whether it is a late 9N or an early 6R before you order.
Installation considerations
- The product page already uses a Polo 2009 before-and-after. That is a 6R-era car, not a promise that every Polo looks identical.
- A 2009 changeover year can be either 9N or 6R. The radio surround tells you more than the registration.
- 6C Polos (from 2014 in most markets) are outside this list.
CANBUS is included. Steering-wheel controls can work on 6R Polos that had them, after the correct setting is selected. Factory park sensors are not guaranteed.
Installing in a Polo 6R
The Polo dash is tighter than a Golf. Take your time with the surround clips. The YouTube tutorial is a Golf Mk6, not a Polo, so do not copy trim removal blindly. The Polo before-and-after photos on the product page are the better visual for this car.

Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto and CANBUS
Both radios support wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. You do not need a USB cable to connect your phone.
CANBUS is included. Steering-wheel controls can work on 6R Polos that had them, after the correct setting is selected. Factory park sensors are not guaranteed.
Reverse camera options
Not every option includes a camera. The aftermarket camera supplied with camera options is compatible with the radio it comes with.
We cannot guarantee that a factory reverse camera or parking sensors will work on the new radio. Fitting a camera may involve working with your car's wiring. If you are not confident, use a qualified mechanic or auto electrician.
Polo 6R questions
Will it fit a Polo 6C?
Not on this list. This page is the 6R (2009–2013). A 6C needs a separate check — do not assume it fits.
I have a 2009 Polo. Is that a 6R?
It might be a late 9N or an early 6R. Send a photo of the front and the radio. Year alone is not enough in 2009.
Does wireless CarPlay work?
Yes, on both radios.
Which screen suits a Polo?
7-inch is closer to the original width. 9-inch is larger if your opening matches. Both use the same radio-shape rule.
Is a reverse camera included?
Only on selected variants. Polo parking is tight, but the 2GB 7-inch options do not include a camera.
