Why upgrade a Golf MK6?
A Mk6 already feels modern on the road. The factory radio is usually the weak point: a small screen, no wireless phone apps, and a cabin that looks older than the car drives. A 7-inch or 9-inch replacement keeps the original dash shape and adds wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, maps and music.

Product options
These are the two existing LJ Automotive radios, not new products. RAM is working memory. More RAM generally helps the radio keep maps, music and other apps open together. We do not promise a specific speed or frame rate.
4GB RAM / 64GB
The usual middle choice. On the 7-inch radio the 4GB options include a reverse camera. On the 9-inch radio 4GB is sold with or without a camera.
6GB RAM / 128GB
The highest option we sell. Both radios include a reverse camera on the 6GB variants. Choose this if you want more working memory and storage.
USB-C versus Dual USB
On the 7-inch radio you can pick Dual USB or USB-C + USB. That is about the physical ports, not CarPlay. Phone linking is wireless on both radios.

Installation considerations
- Mk6 radios are usually bolted in. If yours slides out with DIN keys, stop and check with us.
- A Trustpilot review from Cian describes a Mk6 Golf install and a steering-angle warning after the battery lead was disconnected. Turning the wheel lock-to-lock recalibrated it. That is one customer’s car, not a promise for every Mk6.
- Factory cameras and parking-sensor graphics are not guaranteed on the new radio.

A lot better than expected, arrived within 5 days very easy delt with from the beginning had no issues. The radio itself is good as can be little to none lag etc. cheap price only €150, easy installed with the video takes 30 mins less. For my mk6 golf when i installed it, lights came up on the dash but only happened because I removed the lead from the battery all that needs to be done is turn the wheel fully from left to right to recalibrate.

Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto and CANBUS
Both radios support wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. You do not need a USB cable to connect your phone.
Both radios include a CANBUS decoder. Steering-wheel buttons work on compatible Mk6s that have them, after the correct car model or CANBUS setting is chosen. We do not claim every factory assistance feature will transfer.
Reverse camera options
Not every option includes a camera. The aftermarket camera supplied with camera options is compatible with the radio it comes with.
We cannot guarantee that a factory reverse camera or parking sensors will work on the new radio. Fitting a camera may involve working with your car's wiring. If you are not confident, use a qualified mechanic or auto electrician.
Golf MK6 questions
Do I need a cable for CarPlay or Android Auto?
No. Both radios support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The USB ports are separate.
Will my steering-wheel buttons work?
On compatible vehicles that have them, yes. You may need to select the correct car model or CANBUS configuration in the radio settings first.
Does it fit the GTI, R, Cabriolet and Variant?
They are all on our compatibility list, with the years above. Fit also depends on your factory radio, so send a photo if you are unsure.
Will my factory camera or parking sensors work?
We can't guarantee it. Factory features that were shown or controlled by the original radio may work differently or not be available.
