A taller Golf cabin, the same radio-family check.
The Golf Plus (5M, 2005–2013) sits higher than a Golf hatch and uses a different dashboard moulding. A Plus is not a Mk5 or Mk6 hatch, so do not order from those pages just because the badge says Golf. Use this page, then match the taller radio stack to the product photos.
Both radios include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a CANBUS decoder. They replace the factory radio. They are not add-on modules.
Why upgrade a Golf Plus?
Golf Plus owners usually bought the car for space, not gadgets. Replacing the radio is the simplest way to get wireless maps, calls and music without changing the rest of a practical interior. The new screen makes the high dash feel current while you keep the extra headroom and sliding rear seats.

Product options
These are the two existing LJ Automotive radios, not new products. RAM is working memory. More RAM generally helps the radio keep maps, music and other apps open together. We do not promise a specific speed or frame rate.
4GB RAM / 64GB
The usual middle choice. On the 7-inch radio the 4GB options include a reverse camera. On the 9-inch radio 4GB is sold with or without a camera.
6GB RAM / 128GB
The highest option we sell. Both radios include a reverse camera on the 6GB variants. Choose this if you want more working memory and storage.
USB-C versus Dual USB
On the 7-inch radio you can pick Dual USB or USB-C + USB. That is about the physical ports, not CarPlay. Phone linking is wireless on both radios.

Golf Mk5 and Mk6 hatches have their own pages. A Plus with a later aftermarket stereo still needs a shape check.
Installation considerations
- The Plus dash is taller and the glovebox/radio stack sits differently from a hatch. The radio opening still has to match the product photos.
- Some Plus cars kept an older stereo for years after a facelift. Year alone is not enough.
- Reverse-camera cable runs are longer in an MPV-style body if you choose a camera variant.
CANBUS is included. Steering-wheel controls on factory-equipped Plus models can work after the correct vehicle setting is selected. Factory park-distance graphics are not promised.
Installing in a Golf Plus
The job is still a radio swap: remove the factory unit and connect the supplied harness. The tutorial video shows a Golf Mk6 hatch, not a Golf Plus, so use it only as a general overview. Watch how your Plus surround unclips before you force anything.

Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto and CANBUS
Both radios support wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. You do not need a USB cable to connect your phone.
CANBUS is included. Steering-wheel controls on factory-equipped Plus models can work after the correct vehicle setting is selected. Factory park-distance graphics are not promised.
Reverse camera options
Not every option includes a camera. The aftermarket camera supplied with camera options is compatible with the radio it comes with.
We cannot guarantee that a factory reverse camera or parking sensors will work on the new radio. Fitting a camera may involve working with your car's wiring. If you are not confident, use a qualified mechanic or auto electrician.
Golf Plus questions
Is a Golf Plus the same as a Golf Mk5?
No. It shares the PQ35 family but the dash and body are different. Use this page, not the Mk5 page, and still compare the radio opening.
Does wireless Android Auto work?
Yes, on both radios, without a USB cable for the phone link.
Will my Plus steering-wheel buttons work?
They can on cars that had them from the factory, after the CANBUS/car-model setting is chosen. We do not guarantee every Plus configuration.
Can I fit a reverse camera?
Choose a camera variant if you want the aftermarket camera that comes with the radio. Factory Plus cameras are not guaranteed to reuse.
Which size screen suits a Plus?
7-inch stays closer to the original look. 9-inch is easier to glance at in a taller cabin. Both need the same radio opening.
